Well, people like shorter reads, so if you divide it into chapters, then people can read a few chapters then select which chapter to go to. I've learned from one of my stories, in which a single chapter was 72 pages, that stuff needs to be shorter to attract people. People don't like to read a lot in one sitting: at least chapter wise. Plus, this would be better fitted in your thread about the story.

I worked on redoing the story earlier this year, but quit not that long after trying to, I changed projects: my folly. Trust me, all of that comes from writing for years and creating stories since you were 5. |

No, you're not starting late. Some professional writers don't start writing till later in their life: 20s or even older. It just means I've been doing it longer and kinda know what some people online like.
